As a child Janice suffered from kidney disease and spent long periods of time in hospital, often without any parent being allowed to stay. She also had prolonged drug treatment which had significant side effects. As with any major life event this has left its mark, most notably in Janice’s empathy and passion for making a positive impact in working with others, which has transcended her career as a midwife, NHS leader, coach and consultant.

In the course of her recent work, Janice came across Sandra Currie, chief executive of Kidney Research UK, and found not only an inspiring female leader driven by similar values and behaviours in distributed leadership, but also an organisation working with those suffering from kidney disease and providing research to improve prevention, treatment and psychological support.

Janice was delighted to get to know Sandra and the team of highly committed people who add value not only in what they do but how they do that. We have recently been privileged to work with Sandra and the team as they undertake some organisational change in support of their strategic development plans and will continue to offer professional support and fundraising as our named charity. More details of our work with Kidney Research UK can be found on our Testimonials page.
